Sugar....

Well I didn't get a chance to blog for the final two days of Christmas. Nothing very exciting happened. We had our regular Christmas...well maybe it wasn't so regular. We started Christmas Eve out with breakfast with Dave's step mom Elizabeth...she was going to visit her family in Memphis since GA was working.  So we had breakfast at Perkins and it was oh so yummy! From there we went home and did some cleaning and straightening and finished wrapping a few final gifts. At 1:00 we went to my parents to have birthday lunch for my daddy. He is a Christmas Eve baby so we always make sure to set aside time to celebrate with him. My three nieces were there and after birthday stuff we did Christmas with them. They were so excited about all their gifts and so thankful for everything.

We then headed to the Candle Light Christmas Eve service at church. This is something we do with my family every year and it is by far my favorite tradition. After church we headed up to Dewey and Dorothy's...that's when the not so Regular Christmas began. Everyone had already come and gone. The only guest was Jimbo...Dorothy's nephew...and us! Dewey was sleeping. It was nice to have peace and quite but some one was missing this year. Her chair sat empty and there wasn't a single gift for her under the tree. It really broke my heart! But I knew she was watching over us and I could feel her presence. After we were done there we did take the Darnell's their gift and rode around looking at lights. I told Dave looking at lights as an adult wasn't nearly as much fun as looking at them as a child. Me and daddy would ride several nights just looking and it became my favorite thing at Christmas time. But the magic just didn't seem to be there this year. Maybe once we have children the "fun" of Christmas will return.

Christmas morning we had breakfast at our house for the family. Dave's mom and brother Allen, my parents and our friend Craig and his boys came to eat! Man we had a spread...country ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, fruit, biscuits, and hash brown casserole. Needless to say we all needed a nap afterwards. We exchanged gifts and everyone got some really great stuff. I got a ZUMBA skirt and Tank!!! Didn't get those boots or wallet but did get some $$$$ so will be purchasing them soon! Dave got some gloves and shirts. We got lots of candy too! Santa even left Rambler and Bella a little something...cookies and new collars! Everyone left and we cleaned up and rested until it was time to...EAT again! We did make a pit stop by Rennie's to give him his gift...a wireless thermometer and rain gage. We had supper with my parents and then went to see the singing Christmas lights...a gentleman sets all his lights to music. You tune your radio to a station and the lights flash to with the music. It was AWESOME! I think my parents really enjoyed it too!

So all in all our Christmas was normal. Gigi wasn't there and that made in un-normal, but we did the best we could to remember her and she would have wanted us to celebrate the holiday! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and continues to celebrate Christ through out the upcoming year. It is hard to believe that 2011 is already upon us! So many milestones we had this year and so many people we lost. But as we celebrate this New Year we don't forget them we only cling to their memory and carry them with us into the New Year! May you all be truly blessed as you enter 2011 and look back at 2010 with great joy and memories that will never be forgotten!!!!
