Blessings

Blessing come in the most unexpected packages sometimes when we are least expecting them. There is a song out by Laura Story called Blessings. The Monday night after Mother's Day we had a Mother/Daughter dinner at church and the special guest speaker referenced this song and the guest singer sang it. The speaker talked about her struggle to become a mother and the struggle her family faced with her first born sons health. She had been struggling with infertility for around 10 years when the son got very sick, but she never gave up on God. She knew he would save her son and provide her family with a second child. She is due in July with a baby girl. I felt like God put me there that very night to hear her message. The devil was definitely working too though to get keep me from making it. I was late arriving because my dessert wasn't ready and I was crabby about that and almost didn't go. But that little voice said to brush this minor set back off my shoulder that I needed to be there. Although we aren't technically struggling with infertility, we have been trying to conceive since August 2010. It has been frustrating to hear about all these people who aren't even trying that end up pregnant. Its tough to see young folks having children who aren't married nor finished college and some are still in high school. But something in my gut says to be patient and trust that God has something greater planned. Below are the lyrics and here is a link to the video: http://youtu.be/1CSVqHcdhXQ

We pray for blessings

We pray for peace

Comfort for family, protection while we sleep

We pray for healing, for prosperity

We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering

All the while, You hear each spoken need

Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops

What if Your healing comes through tears

What if a thousand sleepless nights

Are what it takes to know You’re near

What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom

Your voice to hear

And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near

We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love

As if every promise from Your Word is not enough

All the while, You hear each desperate plea

And long that we'd have faith to believe

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops

What if Your healing comes through tears

What if a thousand sleepless nights

Are what it takes to know You’re near

And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us

When darkness seems to win

We know the pain reminds this heart

That this is not, this is not our home

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops

What if Your healing comes through tears

And what if a thousand sleepless nights

Are what it takes to know You’re near

What if my greatest disappointments

Or the aching of this life

Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy

And what if trials of this life

The rain, the storms, the hardest nights

Are Your mercies in disguise

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend filled with many unexpected and much appreciated blessings!!!
